Providing Shoes, Sharing Hope

"The soul of the shoes may where out, but the love of Jesus will last forever."

- Alex Vigil, Co-Founder of Orlie's Shoe Drive

What do we do?

Orlie’s Shoe Drive is a 501©3 that hand measures, hand picks, and hand delivers new tennis shoes to children in Kern County that are socio-economically disadvantaged.

More importantly, every child that receives a pair of new shoes, receives the reminder how valuable and important each one of them is. We strive to let every child know how important they are and share the greatest gift of all, the love of Jesus.

How
To
Support

1. Donate: Through our giving platform, or a new pair of tennis shoes.

2. Sponsorships: Become a personal/business sponsor at one of our fundraising events.

3.Volunteer: Help us be the hands and feet of Jesus, by helping us through sizing, shopping, and delivering

2,500 + shoes this year.

4. Prayer: The most important support, and that is prayer. Please pray that we could have the honor in providing for more children and that we would plant seeds all through our community about Jesus's love!

Orlie’s Story

As an elementary school student, Orlie experienced firsthand what it was like to repair his shoes with cardboard due to his family’s lack of finances. When he became a father himself, he bought his two boys, Alex and Philip, a pair of new tennis shoes every year at Christmas as a reminder of where he came from and what he stood for. This continued all through this sons childhood into their adult life. Orlie lived his life by deeply loving his family, and living generously to those around him. He was truly a friend to all. Something we as his family, have strived to become more like. Founded by Orlie’s family, we now carry on his legacy of reaching children similar to him as a little boy through Orlie’s Shoe Drive, in hopes that local children can be proud of the shoes they wear and know the true meaning of Christmas.
