Orlie’s Shoe Drive
At Orlie’s Shoe Drive, we focus on providing school age children with one of life’s basic necessities to carry them through the day: shoes. It is an item that is often taken for granted, yet thousands of children in the United States are forced to wear shoes that don’t properly fit, are falling apart, or go barefoot altogether. Dozens of medical studies over the years have linked a lack of proper footwear to a decrease in school attendance, health, and even self-esteem among peers. We strive to never let a single child go without.
Impacting children with the gift of new shoes

At Orlie’s Shoe Drive, we strive to find different avenues to reach children in our community who lack the ability to have decent shoes to wear. We are constantly seeking out different places and families that we can reach out to and gift a pair of new tennis shoes.
Ways to Serve
There are several ways that you can help make this possible:
1. Individual shoe donations – we ask that all shoes be in new condition so that every child gets to experience opening a brand new pair that is for them alone.
2. Retail business discounts or donations on bulk purchases of shoes.
3. Online donations through Venmo @Orlies_Shoe_Drive or Paypal https://paypal.me/OrliesShoeDrive?locale.x=en_US.
4. Cash or check (payable to Orlie’s Shoe Drive) that we will happily pick up or can be mailed.
Tell Us your Story
So often we come across people that were impacted by a simple gift such as shoes. We would love to hear about your story and why you feel connected to the Orlie Shoe Drive mission.
As an elementary school student, Orlie experienced firsthand what it was like to repair his shoes with cardboard due to his family’s lack of finances. When he became a father himself, he bought his two boys, Alex and Philip, a pair of new tennis shoes every year at Christmas as a reminder of where he came from and what he stood for. This continued all through this sons childhood into their adult life. Orlie lived his life by deeply loving his family, and living generously to those around him. He was truly a friend to all. Something we as his family, have strived to become more like. Founded by Orlie’s family, we now carry on his legacy of reaching children similar to him as a little boy through Orlie’s Shoe Drive, in hopes that local children can be proud of the shoes they wear and know the true meaning of Christmas.
